A Mansfield dog, already sentenced to death for mauling a 6 year old boy, bit a 16 year old girl this weekend. Following the boards’ decision to euthanize the dog, it was allowed to go home with its owners for a period of 10 days, allowing the family time to appeal the decision. It was during this time that the dog attacked for a second time. Following the second incident, the owners released the dog to Mansfield officials, who reported the dog will be euthanized this week.
The girl’s condition is unknown at this time, but she was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital following the incident. The 6 year old that was attacked by the dog, however, underwent surgery, needing more than 400 stiches to repair injuries to his face and body. According to a Mansfield animal control officer, the dogs bites were “excessive” and recommended the dog be euthanized.
At the Law Office of Mazow|McCullough, P.C. we will aggressively pursue the owner(s) of the dog in question in order to hold them accountable, whether through mediation and arbitration, or by means of a jury trial. The injuries from a dog bite or dog attack can be serious, including permanent scarring, rabies, nerve damage, infection and more. The Right Lawyer Makes All The Difference.
According to Metro.net, the MBTA had an estimated 39 million person ridership in the month of January alone, making it the most widely used form of public transportation in the state of Massachusetts.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013, authorities reported an outbound Green Line trolley collided with a car near the Pleasant St. stop in Allston. The collision left several passengers and the conductor injured. The conductor was reported to be “shaken up” and taken to a hospital, one trolley passenger was transported to a hospital by ambulance and the driver of the vehicle was reported to have some lower back pain upon impact.
After Transit Police conducted an investigation, it was found that the driver of the vehicle was at fault for the collision and was cited for failing to yield to a trolley at an intersection. The report written by the Transit Police concluded “there is no traffic control device at the intersection and trolleys have the right of way”.

There’s an assumption out there that when somebody’s injured there’s going to be a limitless supply of insurance benefits available to them. And often times people are surprised to find out that their settlement is limited on what the available insurance coverage is. In the state of Massachusetts the law only requires $20,000 in insurance coverage. And if you suffered an injury as a result of a collision, that money gets used very quickly towards medical bills and expenses and lost wages.

The number one misconception that people have in car-pedestrian accidents in Massachusetts is that if they don’t have the contact information of the person that hit them, or if that person does not have automobile insurance, then they can’t make a claim. That is not correct. If you’re struck as a pedestrian by somebody who does not have insurance or has left the scene of the accident and you have your own automobile insurance coverage you can still make a claim against your own insurance policy for your lost wages, your medical bills, and your pain and suffering.

The biggest mistake made by an injured party following a car accident in the state of Massachusetts is assuming that the insurance that contacts them, who represents the person responsible for their injuries, is going to help that injured party. They communicate with the insurance company, they provide information. The insurance then uses all of that information provided to them to either deny the claim or pay less on the claim. It’s very common that I see the insurance company manipulating that information to avoid making payment that injury claim.

In Massachusetts if you’re a pedestrian and you’ve been struck by a car that does not have insurance, your own automobile insurance coverage can provide a payment for your medical bills and your lost wages and for your pain and your suffering. If you own an automobile and you’re struck as a pedestrian, you contact your own insurance company and you make a claim against them for what’s called uninsured motors coverage. It will pay for your medical bills, your lost wages, and your pain and your suffering.
